Good food and a friendly staff!
Our family would eat or order takeout monthly over the the years. However, the food quality has diminished over the past 6 months and we are no longer customers.
It's my go-to Chinese place in Avon Lake when I want somewhere cozy and hassle free. It doesn't look like much on the outside (it's in a strip mall), but it's very clean, cozy, and modern on the inside. Their menu is very diverse, but I have really only ever had their sesame chicken and pad thai. The service can be vary wildly, because they seem to have a lot of turnover with their servers.
Saturday lunch was very awkward. We ordered from the lunch menu but were charged the dinner price. When we showed the discrepancy to our waiter, the manager came over. She said the mistake would come out of his pay & that he would get no money for being there. So could we have “compassion “ on him & pay the difference. We said “no” we ordered from the lunch menu. The waiter came back with lunch price bills. A really nice outing ended up very ugly being asked to pay more . We left wondering if that’s a technique to get more money from women. We will take our business elsewhere. There are many independent restaurants in the Avon area where you don’t end up feeling bad at the end of the meal.
A friendly, authentic place, with a wonderful pair of owners (husband/wife duo). The food is great and the owners run a tight ship. Quick service, great dishes, and an authentic aura.
There is no better Pad Thai on the west side of Cleveland anywhere.
Lunch menu is more limited than their dinner menu--or so I gather since the menu I saw online and the paper menu I picked up in the anteroom on the way out both show options that were not on the menu we hd at the table. The food was good, just not many choices if you wanted vegetarian but not sushi or sashimi.
What a beautiful place! The food is excellent, good prices, and friendly folks too. There is an awesome custom art welded metal dragon at the bar spouting water into a koi pond. Made by a local artist. Amazing. I am still thinking about the spicy chicken and rice noodles dish I had. I do recommend this place, but be aware they close at 3pm and presumably open back up later for dinner.
Excellent food sandservice.
Outstanding service, excellent food and generous portions.
Half price California rolls. My whole bill plus a Coke was only 11.00. That was for 3 rolls
Love this place. Best Singapore noodles have any Chinese restaurant in the area! People who run this place are awesome! Shay Shay
Amazing! The only Chinese place my boyfriend and I eat at. Best crab rangoons I've ever had.
I love there foods. Their foods so delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurant 😍.
Fresh ingredients and a light hand on the sauce make this our go to place for Chinese food.
Amazing sushi. Its half off if you dine in at a certain time Friday and Saturday evening😉
Food was great service was horrible didn’t even know the servers name until we got our bill. Didn’t ask how our food was asked very short plain questions like “ are you okay”, “what are you getting” etc. not a good server but food was good
Delicious sushi and sizzling soup
We come back here often. The food is great and friendly service
Ordered take out from menu on line. When we went to pick it up it was 25% higher than prices on line. She said they had raised the prices. We explained that they should then update the on line menu with correct prices. This did not go well and we will not go there again. Also when they lost their chef last year the food has not been the same with new chef. Mgr/She is arogant and rude. Not to worry there are a lot of restaurants in the area.
I had an awesome in this place. We enjoyed the first-rate atmosphere and the food. The staff members were very personal. I’m glad we finally decided to visit this restaurant.
Rude stated could not cut vegetables to an edible size. Wont eat there again...not good customer service coming from the owner. Had been great for many years when the wife ran the business.
This spot is worth a visit. They have big portions for convenient rates. Consistently neat and with good ambience. Will visit here again.
Nice hometown Asian cuisine moderately priced
Come here regularly. Love the hot pepper chicken and they have good wednesday sushi specials. Alternate between the two.
Their almond boneless chicken is the best and the Wednesday night 1/2 off sushi is a total deal.
Food is always great! My favorite is Island Wok chicken. Very polite staff and service is great. One of my many go to places 😃
Good food and great service. The owner is inviting and friendly. Will definitely be returning
Food is consistently good.
Sweet and sour sauce to sour Not sweet enough Egg rolls had mushy stuff inside. Not your typical roast pork egg roll just ground up sausage that was mushed Not original Chinese veggies or even one piece of pork very soggy Chicken was soggy. Sauces where disgusting Chicken broccoli disgusting Will not be going there again Over priced and not good
This is the best place ever. Food is fantastic. Service excellent. So very clean. Staff so nice. It's the only place I go. Love it. Great prices too. Don't see it on the menu, ask and they will probably make it for you.
Honestly some of the best sushi I have ever had and great customer service, I want to try it a few more time before I give them a 5 star
Amazing delicious fresh! Love love it!
The resturaunt itself is kinda layed out but the food is plain no flavor just blah and my fried wontons where over cooked and nearly broke my teeth i work in the area and tryed a new place for lunch threw out my take out menu and wont make that mistake again
Delicious food and great service! We always love our trips here.
Aweful food. After several take out orders we have had enough. Order ALWAYS messed up. The "fried rice" is just rice with soy sauce on it! Way less meat and mostly veggies. I only had six shrimp in shrimp pad thai. Here is the worst - look at pic - they poured scalding sauce into a styrofoam container and it melted the foam (it was actually leaking through) - cancer anyone? Never again.
Never went inside, ordered through Uber Eats. My coworker and I had the house special fried rice with their regular egg rolls and also had crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was not the best I’ve tasted, but it was good. Everything else was delicious. I’m giving them another try
I ordered food from this place and I got so sick from it. It was not very good. I would not advise eating from this place. I got crispy sesame chicken and the chicken was not even crispy.
By far the worst Chinese food I've had in a very long time. It used to be like high end food. Well not anymore. I couldn't tell the difference between the orange chicken and the general Tzos. Sp.? It was mushy and bland. Egg rolls were overcooked and tasted like old oil. Shrimp fried rice was strong in odor although very large. It's been years and its really gone down hill. I called not expecting anything or wanting anything but to inform them of the inadequacies of the $51 plus tip order I picked up and was told I ordered it incorrectly. Well I ordered it like I've done my whole life. So anyhow I was told that she remembers me because I was picky in the past. Lol I dined in 8 years ago several times and it was a completely different experience. What a joke. I dont know what happened, but it did. Oh well, they are the most expensive anyhow. Live and learn.
The only positive thing about this place is the owner. The sushi chef is slow as a turtle and it is not prepared correctly. The waiters are rude and inept. If you want to be treated poorly and wait over an hour for your food, this is your place.
I had the sesame chicken and the vegetarian sushi. Both were very good. They have a big selection and it's not very expensive.
Mark Pi's food seems more palatable than the waves of restaurants opened since 1990's . A better understanding of blending the Asian cooking style and ingredients with the American taste and diet perhaps.
Used to be good. Now pricey with not so good food.
I used to love this place years ago. They had the best pad thai that I ever tasted. When I worked out here it was a regular occurrence. Then I changed jobs and didn't come anymore. I moved out here a little closer and when I would try it the pad thai was very dry. This time I requested a little extra sauce and it was the saltiest sweetest thing I ever tasted. I could forgive them maybe I shouldn't have asked for extra sauce but what they did to my mom's dish made me have to write this review. She asked if they had egg foo young and they said they did but it is not on the menu. That is one of our favorite dishes so we have had it many ways. This was the absolutely the worst. It was flat fried hard and horrifically laden with grease. Then it is supposed to have gravy on it not the sweet Mongolian style sauce that it came with. It was inedible as was my meal. Very sad to see a former amazing restaurant fall that far down.
The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. As I was waiting in the lobby for my food, Three people called stating their orders were completely wrong. Apparently, fried rice is just white rice with soy sauce. She refused to fix her mistake. I made it clear, fried with the veggies! She said, I’ll fix it, but you must pay me $9 more. IAsked for duck sauce because I ordered egg rolls, she pointed her at me and said, wait! It’s on the bag. PLEASE don’t waste your time and money.
A friend and I went for lunch this weekend. My friend remarked that anything she has ever ordered there she has enjoyed. They have added sushi and sashimi since I was last there. If you are looking for vegetable/vegetarian dishes, you might prefer their dinner menu, which looks to have more choices. Your lunch choices are limited to Vegetable Delight (vegetables in a brown sauce served with rice), vegetable fried rice, a string bean dish, or some sushi/sashimi choices. (The menu I saw online listed other choices that weren't on the lunch menu.) I had the Vegetable Delight which included mushrooms, carrots, water chestnuts, and baby corn. The brown sauce was flavorful. My friend was dismayed to not see mu shu on the lunch menu--apparently it is fewer weight watcher points than other dishes, but she settled for the Happy Family and seemed to enjoy it.
We had takeout. Excellent food and a good value 👍
Excellent Asian food. But the help is so below average not worth my time anymore. Love the people who run business, but one worthless waitress can ruin your meal.
We waited about 40 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering. The food was good but not very hot. Probably will not go back to eat there.
